Myocardial Perfusion SPECT
This audit was assessing software used for the processing of myocardial perfusion SPECT data. The data were derived from simulations with a myocardial phantom, the MCAT, with known perfusion defects.
Participants were sent the raw projection data from myocardial perfusion SPECT scans from three patients. Each patient had a REST and a STRESS scan. The task was to process the data with the usual software and parameters used routinely in the participating centres. The third patient dataset contained markers (point sources) to help with standardisation of the analysis of the results.
The aim of the project was to investigate the consistency of analysis and to provide departments with a means of audit of the results produced by their own parameters.
